It all began in 1901 when lovers of fish in captivity started a local club. This club startet renting the present area from 1913, so that they could get fresh food like cyclops for theire fish. 1924 the grounds where bought and a year later a small aquarium opened. On the 19th march 1945 the place was bombed and it there for had to close. Still the members worked for new club facilities and in 1967 the ground was opened for general public. In 2003 the garden was renovatet with economical help from the city.


Going towards the restaurant and then turning left behinde the small lake we follow the signed path. On our way we meet typical birds in private captivity like the budgerigar, cockatiel and the golden pheasant. These birds are on loan from Hanau Bird Club. Now going inside (ask a clubmember to open up for you if there is one in the park and the door is closed) the house we have 38 aquariums and 8 terrariums. You meet fish like the darter fish, harlequin rasbora and boseman's rainbowfish, as well as Achrioptera fallax


DE: Dieser kleiner Garten mit einem interessantem Schauhause gehört dem Verin der Hanauer Aquarien- und Terrarienfreunde. Gezeigt werden insbesonders Zierfische wie die schönen Regenbogenfische, aber auch andere Tiere wie der Wellensittich.
